Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. I do not know—perhaps this will be the last appeal, and perhaps this will be the final cry. For more than 555 days, I have been reaching out to the media to implore every free person in the world, everyone with a human conscience, and all the organizations and institutions that claim to defend human rights and human dignity. And sadly, there is no life for those we call upon.
A Father's Condition After Prison
The day before yesterday, lawyer Nasser Awwadi managed to visit my father, and he reported to us painful details about that visit. My father was not able to breathe. He was not able to speak. His face was disfigured from the marks of torture, pain, and blood that he has endured inside the prison—especially after the last court hearing that took place in Jerusalem, in the Supreme Court. My father has been subjected to severe torture and his physical and mental state has deteriorated to a critical condition.
A Call to the Muslim World and Beyond
Sadly, to what state of abandonment have we come when we appeal to more than two billion Muslims and more than twenty-two Arab and Islamic nations, and you have ignored the voice of my father's suffering and his cries for help. You have denied us even your voices, your solidarity, and your stands—stands that should have begun from the moment of his arrest. But sadly, your silence is a betrayal and a crime, and a partnership in the torture of my father and the prisoners inside Israeli prisons.
May Allah be sufficient for me against all those who have neglected this cause, those who have grown accustomed to the scene. We are being killed and wiped out in cold blood as though we deserve death. To what state of abandonment have we come when we plead with Muslims and there is no response? We are groaning, and we receive nothing, until we have had to call out to those of the cross. To what state of abandonment have we come?
One Last Plea to Humanity
We still address, appeal to, and implore every free person in the world, and everyone who has even a trace of humanity in their heart, to save my father's life before it is too late. Perhaps this cry will be the last cry. Perhaps we will not be able to assure ourselves about my father again. Perhaps the next news will be the final news, and perhaps we will be deprived of hearing my father's voice once more.
We ask you and beseech you to wake up from your negligence before it is too late. Silence is a partner in the torture of my father, and you are our adversaries before Allah. May Allah be sufficient for me and He is the best custodian.
