Historical Presence and Pre-Zionist Coexistence

Our people were in Israel before the Zionists came. Before 1948, and even somewhat before Zionist groups arrived and began fighting with Arabs, Jews used to live in peace with their Arab neighbors. The whole fighting started when Zionist groups came to Israel and wanted to force out the Arabs and Palestinians. We are not responsible for that war.

Religious Opposition to Military Service

We are against this government because it is against God, and we are not supposed to fight a war because they want to fight the Arabs. It is against our religious belief, and we do not want them to force us into the army. Our religious principles prevent us from participating in this conflict as the government has structured it.

Treatment of Dissenting Jews in Israel

When our brothers in Israel go out to demonstrate against these policies, they are getting hit brutally by Israeli police. Unfortunately, it is a shame to say, but Israeli police treat them like the Nazis treated our grandparents in Europe. During World War Two and tonight, they get hit brutally just for expressing that they want to stay religious Jews.

Refusal to Participate in Israeli Elections

Our people do not go to the Israeli elections, as Rabbi Joel told us, because we do not want to be a part of a government that is against God. The prime minister and most people in the government do not keep Shabbos. They do not eat kosher. They do not respect God. They do not believe in God.

Desecration of Jewish Sacred Sites

The government digs out graves from Jewish cemeteries. They have even more respect for non-Jewish cemeteries than for Jewish cemeteries because they do not believe in God. This treatment of our sacred burial grounds reflects their rejection of religious Jewish values.
